Nike Retro Air Tech Challenge
August 30, 2006 on 1:48 pm | In Sneakers, other |
Well, KDAY1580 from NikeTalk dropped a bomb on the board yesterday. He confirmed that the two original colorways of the Air Tech Challenge by Nike will be releasing in spring 2007. In April, the white/yellow/black colorway is coming and June we’ll see the white/orange/royal color release. These shoes were part of the Agassi signature line and ad campaign by Nike back in the 90’s. Agassi has just announced that he will retire after this year’s US Open, so these are coming just shortly after, and are probably the most popular of his signature line from the 90’s. On a side note it’s pretty ridiculous that not more than three years ago you could scoop up a pair of these for less than $50 EASILY, then one day RetroKid goes and posts up his Agassi collection, a buzz started up and now they don’t go for any less than $250. Man the good ol’ days weren’t so long ago.
The pictures above are of the originals, not the retros. There are no samples available of the retro yet, but the Agassi logo will be replaced by a tennis ball.

These shoes are out, just got a pair. They’re not exactly the same as the orginials. It’s more yellow than the color of the tennis ball, the tennis ball sign on the back is replaced by a swoosh sign, and missing some black on the back as well.
